Meet The Author

Leslie Popp is the author of the Life by Pumpkin series. Her affinity for writing was ingrained from an early age, starting with elementary school Write-A-Book contests, which she treated as a serious literary pursuit. She works in finance but loves to write about her furry companions. Leslie has always harbored a deep love of animals, and her pets over the years have included hermit crabs, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. She adheres to the belief that pets are members of the family and deserve respect, love, and sometimes their own pillow on the bed. She firmly supports the humane treatment of all animals and is committed to a vegan lifestyle.

Pumpkin designated Leslie as his official biographer given his paws were too small to work the keyboard and he preferred napping on the computer instead of using it to chronicle his adventures.

Meet Pumpkin

Pumpkin (2007–2021) was an orange tabby with a loving heart and a big personality. He adopted Leslie in 2010 after meeting her at the animal shelter where she volunteered. Pumpkin had been housed there for a year, and he was overjoyed to find his perfect human and forever home. His curiosity and desire for attention resulted in his many chronicled adventures. Pumpkin did indeed have his own pillow and side of the bed, as well as a dedicated coffee mug for water in case the water in his bowl was not to his liking that day. He brought joy to all those around him and will always be missed.
