If you want to become a competent Thai speaker, then you need to learn to read the Thai script.
It’s almost impossible to build vocabulary and perfect your pronunciation using phonetic Thai.
And learning to read Thai is a lot easier than you imagine!

The Thai letters are introduced gradually – not in alphabetical order, but in the order of which ones are used most commonly.
This means you’ll be learning the more frequently used letters first, and the oddballs last.
Each chapter introduces one or two new consonants and one or two new vowels.

Meet the authors
Ian Fereday is an Englishman who has lived in Thailand more than thirty years. Meeting and marrying the owner of Phuket’s leading language school meant he was in the ideal place to learn Thai. Working with his wife, Bee, they wrote and developed the Thai and English language books and course materials used in the school to teach tens of thousands of language learners. These tried and tested materials have now been combined into paperback versions and are available to anyone who wants to learn at home at their own pace.
