Brush pens have been used as writing instruments for thousands of years. There are many different styles and colors of brush pens available today, making them an excellent tool for illustration. <\/p>\n

Brush pens are classified by the style of their tips: hard tip, soft tip, and brush tip. Hard and soft tip pens have relatively firm felt tips, allowing for greater precision and control, while brush tip pens have flexible hair tips (either synthetic or natural) that perform more like paintbrushes. <\/p>\n

Stationery <\/p>\n

Look for a lightweight paper with a rough surface that will catch the brush tip as you draw. This type of paper will produce illustrations with a soft impression. <\/p>\n

Copy Paper <\/p>\n

Since the surface of copy paper is quite smooth, it can be difficult to create rough lines, unless you move your brush quickly. This type of paper is not very absorbent, so it can be difficult to spread color using a water brush. <\/p>\n
