With his first steps off the beach his challenge begins. He meets up with \u201cSky\u201d an African boy his own age who has been abandoned in the jungle and left to die. After a clash of culture and history the two agree to join forces to increase their chances of survival. This action-packed adventure pitches Thomas and Sky against the dangers of Africa and the deception of man. They encounter mysterious tribal warriors and confront deep primal fears as they make their way across the northern trade routes of sixteenth century Africa. With each encounter, the two boys learn to trust each other in order to survive.<\/p>\n

They reach the \u201cGreat East West Road\u201d and join a traveling trade caravan. Together with the seasoned characters aboard, they face all the perils and beauty of Africa. Both boys, in their own ways, gain an understand of life and it’s challenges and unknowingly succeed in their rights of passage. The thrilling journey that unfolds coaxes the man out of the boys, bringing them closer together as brothers and forges a friendship that will last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

I did not know what to expect with this book Crossing Africa, but it was recommended by our book club. I could not put this book down.
This book had a great story line. About survival , strength, friendship, disaster, death, life, fear of the unknown, trust, hope, faith, truth, love compassion and The Golden Rule It was well written. The author described many of the scenes so beautifully and in so much detail that you felt like you were there.
A must read for any age.<\/p>\n

Page turner, good for anyone, any age!
I loved this book. I didn’t want it to end! I liked how there were many inspiring words of wisdom that we should all remember as adults! Is there a sequel? There should be! I’d definitely read it!! Get working on it, if you haven’t already!!!<\/p>\n
