10 Gigabit Ethernet <\/h3>\n

At the time, the CalDigit TS4 was the first Thunderbolt 4 dock to include a 2.5GbE port, and with the TS5 Plus we are going 4x better by including a 10GbE port.* <\/p>\n

10 Gigabit Ethernet offers 10x the performance of traditional 1GbE found in many docking stations, with a data rate of up to 10 billion bits per second. <\/p>\n

Traditionally, if you wanted to use 10GbE with a laptop, you would have needed to buy an external Thunderbolt to 10GbE Adapter. This functionality is now built in, saving you time, and valuable desk space. Of course you can use the 10GbE port on the TS5 Plus with 5GbE, 2.5GbE, and 1GbE devices. <\/p>\n

Dual USB Controllers <\/p>\n

The TS5 Plus is a unique device, and this is ultimately demonstrated by being the only dock with dual USB controllers*. <\/p>\n

Traditional Thunderbolt docks feature a single USB controller that all of the USB, and Thunderbolt ports on the dock share. The TS5 Plus\u2019 dual controllers allow the dock to provide two individual 10Gb\/s controllers for increased bandwidth to connected devices. This is a great solution for anyone adding multiple high bandwidth USB devices to their dock. <\/p>\n

Single Monitor <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking to add a single monitor to the TS5 Plus you can connect it to one of the spare Thunderbolt 5 ports or to the DisplayPort connector. If you wish to connect an HDMI monitor you can use a USB-C to HDMI Adapter or Active DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter ***. <\/p>\n

Dual Monitors <\/p>\n

\u2714 macOS users on base M4, M1\/M2\/M3\/M4 Pro, M1\/M2\/M3\/M4 Max, M1\/M2\/M3 Ultra, or Intel based Macs can connect up to dual displays. <\/p>\n

\u2718 M1\/M2\/M3 based Macs are limited to 1 external monitor by design via their Thunderbolt ports. <\/p>\n

Flexible Display Configurations – The TS5 Plus on macOS devices can connect up to Dual 6K 60Hz displays, or even Dual 8K 60Hz displays on Macs that support those resolutions. The TS5 Plus supports high-refresh rates at up to Dual 4K 240Hz. On Windows, the TS5 Plus supports up to dual 6K 60Hz on Thunderbolt 4 hosts, and up to Dual 8K 60Hz on Thunderbolt 5 hosts. 10 Gigabit Ethernet – The TS5 Plus seamlessly integrates powerful 10GbE workflows with ease. 10GbE is 10X faster than traditional 1GbE found on the majority of docking stations. Users can connect to ultra fast 10GbE networks in order to transfer files faster than ever, or connect to 10GbE equipped NAS storage devices. Dual USB Controllers – A unique feature of the TS5 Plus is that it includes Dual USB Controllers. This means that the ports on the front of the dock have one 10Gb\/s USB controller for all of the attached devices, and the rear ports have a second 10Gb\/s controller for the devices on the back ports. This avoids any bottlenecks when multiple high speed USB devices are connected, and is an ideal feature to complement the total of 10x USB ports on the dock.
Compatibility – The TS5 Plus is compatible with Thunderbolt and USB4 host devices. To get the maximum performance out of the TS5 Plus a Thunderbolt 5 (80Gb\/s) or USB4 v2 (80Gb\/s) host connection is required. Users on Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 hosts will see reduced functionality.
